Dr. Islam Ibrahim, who will be presenting the Islamic worldview, received his medical degree from Cairo University in 1988. He also completed his medicine and surgery internship at Cairo University. He finished his internal medicine internship and residency at Nassau County Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Ibrahim also completed his pulmonary medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine Hospital in New York.
Dr. Ibrahim is affiliated with the Islam Society of Akron and Kent and is involved in Islamic teaching at the Islamic Center, as well as at local universities and institutions. His areas of interest include establishing bridges of communication between the different cultures towards mutual respect and understanding of both culture and religion.
Dr. Islam Ibrahim currently practices pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine at Regency Hospital in Barberton (Chief of Medical Staff), Akron General and Akron City Hospitals. Dr. Ibrahim also serves as assistant professor of clinical medicine at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCM).
